The tight clustering of dots requires more restraint then faster paced linear marks. This and the straightforward gridded structure were parameters I set at the beginning of the piece and create a unified field. The loose systematic pattering combined with the gridding and subdued color scheme establish a calm space for the viewer to navigate. The most jarring passage is located at the top right, and interrupts the diagonal progression originating at the lower left corner. This breaks the diagonal flow and disperses attention to other sections of lighter yellow.
